How To Help Local Offline Businesses Grow

June 13th, 2008

Plumbers are Plumbers, Retailers are Retailers and Hairdressers are, well Hairdressers and they all have one thing in common; they all need new customers to survive in business; and you can help them and make money for yourself in the process.

The problem offline business owners have is that they are not Marketers. They have to do many things to run their businesses successfully, and marketing is just a small part of it. In general they will market their business by advertising in local newspapers, handing out flyers and hoping for word-of-mouth recommendations, but as for marketing on the web, most don’t have a clue.

As an online marketer you can help them gain new business through your knowledge of online marketing. You know how to build a website, how to get traffic to the website, how to get a good ranking in the search engines, how to build a responsive list of customers and all the other skills that you need to make money online.

More and more people use the Internet to find local products and services in their area. This is especially true of the younger generations who were brought up with the Internet as a large part of their lives. These people don’t even think of looking in the Yellow Pages or other local paper business directories.

They go straight to the Internet and search for offline businesses in their area that provide the items or services that they are looking for. This is especially true of the younger generations who have been brought up with the Internet.

Having a local portal website, advertising local businesses on the Internet can easily boost your own business. Many local businesses know that they should either advertise on the Internet or have their own website, but simply don’t know how. By approaching local businesses and talking to them about how you can use your online marketing knowledge and skills to help them gain new customers and make more money from their existing customers, you can build your own offline business online.

And, by helping local businesses gain more customers through the Internet, you are also helping them reduce their advertising budget because they won’t need to spend a large amount of money on local newspaper and Yellow Pages ads, and for that they will willingly pay you.

Are ebooks still an effective method of product delivery?

April 6th, 2008

On the Warrior Forum there is a thread that is discussing the effectiveness of various types of media delivery methods that are available to Internet Marketers. And the results are surprising.

Over the last year or two, and with the ever increasing speed of broadband connections, many internet marketers have been saying that the best method of product delivery is video and audio, and that the humble ebook has taken a back seat.

Well, although video and audio have their place in the marketing mix, it would seem that most people still prefer the ebook format.

For the reader, the main advantages of ebooks are:

1) The ebook can be printed and taken wherever the reader goes.
2) The reader can skip back and forth through the pages to get the exact information that they want.
3) The reader doesn’t have to bookmark a site or try to remember where they saw it.
4) They don’t have to fill up their hard-drive with huge files.

For the product creator, the main advantages of ebooks are:

1) Ebooks remain the easiest product format to produce.
2) It is easier to add affiliate links to an ebook than a video.
3) Ebooks are easier to edit.
4) There are more places that you can offer an ebook than there are videos and audios.

So, although many internet marketers will tell you that video and audio are the way to go, before you go ahead and put all your energy into creating video and audio products, think about what your customers want and not what you want to give your customers.

Food for thought!

Rob Benwell’s Niche Annihilation Method - A Review

March 4th, 2008

Niche Marketing has been all the buzz amongst the Internet Marketing community for the last couple of years. If you didn’t know, niche marketing is basically finding a niche that is relatively free of marketers yet has people willing to pay for products or services.

However, for those just breaking into Internet Marketing (or IM), niche marketing can be daunting; working out how to set up a niche website and then monetising it makes many people give up before they have hardly started.

Internet Marketer, Rob Benwell, famed for his best selling ebook Blogging to the Bank, has just released his latest ebook, Niche Annihilation Method.

Looking at his sales page, my first impression was one of OMG another hyped up IM product, because Rob brags about the wealth that he has created online over the last two to three years. There are pictures of his expensive cars and expensive holiday destinations, which to me is just showing off. After all, we all know it can be done. We all know of the so-called guru’s and their millions, so why he has put them on his sales page is beyond me.

However, I know Rob’s products, I bought Blogging to the Bank when it was first released, and I also entered his limited membership Underground Club, late 2006, so I know that when it comes down to providing the sort of information the new Internet Marketers really want to know, Rob provides it.

The Niche Annihilation Method comes as an ebook that you can instantly download, after purchase. You’ll find that it is a short ebook, just 49 pages.

The first 35 pages, detail the strategies that Rob has tested and honed, to get to the top of any niche he wishes to enter. There are strategies for:

  • How to dominate the from page of Google results
  • Techniques to improve conversions
  • How to start your own niche affiliate program
  • How to create the best PPC campaign possible for your niche
  • How to make extra money from backend sales
  • How you can save yourself a lot of time, yet still earn more

In addition, the later section, titled “30 Day Blueprint For Success”, gives you links to over 50 videos that show you step-by-step everything you need to do to dominate one or more niche markets.

On launch day, Rob reported to his subscribers that his server went down twice, and on the second day, he reported that even with server problems he had sold over 1000 copies of his Niche Annihilation Method, so if you are just starting out, I would highly recommend you buy this and implement the strategies that Rob is providing.

How to Escape Your Day Job, Pay Your Bills, And Make Progress Towards The Ideal Lifestyle

January 22nd, 2008

by Marlon Sanders

Editors Note: I came across this article on the Warrior Forum, the other day. If you have never heard of Marlon Sanders, he is one of the original Internet Marketing guru’s.

The reason that I am posting this here, is simply based on some of the comments that people have left in that thread of the Warrior Forum. Some of the most experienced marketers there have started their own businesses based on the teachings of Marlon Sanders, and having read other great things about this man, I believe that by getting and putting into action the teachings of The Amazing Formula, anyone can do the same.

But read this article first.

There are 6 basic ways to get dough online:

1. Promote affiliate products

2. Google adsense

3. Sell a service

4. Sell advertising

5. Sell physical products (think eBay)

6. Sell information

You’ll notice that the last 4 all involve selling something. That’s the approach I wanna talk to you about today.

I did a survey with my Milcers and Alist members. I found out that most of them are still stuck to a degree in getting things going.

I want to give you an abbreviated action plan that I spend 100 pages elaborating on in “Gimme My Money Now” and that the icons walk you through in “The Marketing Dashboard”.

There are MANY Formulas out there. Here’s the Marlon Sanders Formula in a nutshell. So many of you have written and said, “I need a Formula. I need step-by-step.” This is the big picture:

1. Find demand

2. Write sales letter

3. Create info product to meet demand

4. Roll out with affiliate program

Here’s what I found out from my survey. Most of you guys and gals have jobs that you want to escape from. You have bills and debts to pay.

And most of you are coming into this without a lot of prior knowledge of marketing and some of you have limited computer skills.

Based on that, do you think it’s safe for me to say it’s unrealistic to think you’re going to quickly and easily become a zillionaire? Well, it’s true. If you have no background in sales and marketing, and you don’t have very good computer skills, you have a learning curve ahead of you and that takes time.

HERE’S HOW I PERSONALLY DID IT

I remember when I was broke and bought deodorant with all pennies. But what I did was kept learning and didn’t expect easy nor overnight results.

I kept buying books when I could afford them. There were no cheap and easy ebooks back then. I could have done it
10 times faster if I had access to all the information available today.

Anyway, my way out was self education. And action. I kept doing little projects to put what I learned into ACTION.

I ran this one little business where you sold booklets using answering machines. You didn’t have voice mail then. So I had 3 answering machines hooked up in my home (my friends hated it).

I ran these little ads in what we call in the U.S. “penny shoppers.” These are little papers given away for free that are all classified ads.

I ended up running ads in 72 cities! And people would leave their name and address on the answering machines. I shipped the books C.O.D. Half the books came back. It was sorta like paying out 50% affiliate commissions.

You didn’t have Paypal or easy merchant accounts in those days. So you had to do C.O.D. I sold $12,000 of books via “mail order.” And I was exhilarated to do so. I think at the end of the day I probably LOST money.

But I sure learned a lot.

Then AOL and CompuServe came along and I started writing sales letters and running ads on there. You’d run a little classified ad (they were free on AOL). People would email you.

Since autoresponders didn’t exist, you’d personally email them back your “free report.” Since there weren’t any PDF’s then (at least, that I knew of), the free report was a long email.

The “big trick” my friend Jonathan Mizel taught back then was to put their name in the return email! That was a big secret back then.

Mizel, me, others all learned copywriting from Tested Advertising Methods by John Caples. That was like one of 4 or 5 books on copywriting. But you know what? We wrote some pretty good sales letters back then. I first met Jonathan Mizel ’cause he sent me one of his sales letters, and I thought it was good. So I wrote and asked him where he learned to write copy.

Of course, he said “Tested Advertising Methods” by John Caples. So we were immediate friends.

AOL was great. You could test out your little ads, emails and sales letters. I don’t even think in those days we sent out follow up emails.

As far as I know, my friend the late Corey Rudl created the demand for autoresponders when he wrote about how he brought in all this money by automatically emailing buyers 4 days later.

It was only after that someone was smart enough to create an autoresponder. Corey’s stuff was hand coded. Gosh, I miss Corey. And I reckon you’ve been in this business a long time when you see your friends move on to the next great adventure.

Somewhere in this time line (it all escapes me), I had a little retail store selling self help books and tapes. The first thing newbies think to sell online is either diet stuff or self help.

Man, self help is a tough sell. Both Dan Kennedy and I had self development stores. And we both lost bux on ‘em. But I did have the chance to write and send out a few sales letters. And since I often didn’t have the money to print and mail letters, I’d call ‘em on the phone.

I found out that just by calling people, I could say ANYTHING and I’d STILL get a lot of people coming in for the next 3 weeks.

That’s the power of staying in contact with your customers.

Anyway, I could go on with this story. I’ve told the rest of it in bits and pieces in different places.

What are you supposed to get out of this?

Dan Kennedy I think had a path kinda like mine. And what he said once is profound. He said, “I became an overnight success after 20 years of effort.”

Now, I’m NOT saying you need 20 years of effort. You don’t. But neither is 20 minutes a week gonna do much for ya.

Most of the people I’ve seen make it in this business do so after trying things that didn’t work. And they kept on trying. And sooner or later, somethin’ clicked.

I think I shoulda called this article, “Sooner or Later, Something Clicked.”

So you got a job that sucks. You got bills that are stacked up. Hopefully you can buy deodorant with something other than pennies like me in the old days.

So what do YOU do?

My friend, I’d personally tell ya to do what I did. Fall in love with the process more than the immediate fixation of “I gotta make this work now or the whole thing is a scam.”

What you’re learning is marketing.

And that’ll benefit you your whole life. It can help you get your son or daughter or friend a job. It can help you raise money for your Church or charity. It can help you promote an idea whose time has come.

See, a LOT of people say, “I feel like I’ve just wasted my #*$&* money on stuff.”

I my response is, “Then you don’t understand what you’re learning. No wonder things haven’t clicked for you yet.”

See, this isn’t about gimmicks. It isn’t about you figuring out how to trick people into buying with magic words. It isn’t about fooling the search engines into stickin’ your stuff at the top. If you do this business the way I teach it, it’s about learning marketing. And yeah, I said the dirty 5-letter word — LEARN. You can paint it up. You can put perfume on it. You can sell the sizzle not the steak.

But my friend, what you’re doin’ is learning. And like my friend Jim Edwards says, “That isn’t something you microwave.”

“So Marlon, tell me how long this is gonna take and how much I’m gonna make when I’m done?”

Rule 1: People learn at different rates, so no one knows.

Rule 2: You’ll never be done.

Rule 3: It depends on what you sell, who you sell to, how much you charge, what your margin is and how often they buy.

Some people like Russ Brunson get in this business, do it part time between classes in college and go great guns with it. Russ was one of my top affiliates. But he figured out this business so quickly, before I knew it he had his own line of highly successful products. More power to him!

Others are like me and take like 10 or 20 years to learn it. What’s average? Average is not doing anything, therefore not learning anything, therefore the bills pile higher and the job gets tougher.

“Well, if you can’t tell me how much I’m gonna make, how long it’s gonna take and how much it’s gonna cost me, then I think this whole thing is a scam.”

To say that is to say you believe marketing is a scam. Because at least the way I teach it, that’s what you’re learning.

What’s my advice?

Think of the best info product idea you know how to come up with. Interview some experts and record it. Or have a friend interview you. Do a little 3-hour product, write a sales letter for it. And see if anyone buys.

If they don’t buy, guess what? You asked the market a question and the market answered.

You asked the market, “Do you want to buy this?” And the market responded, “No, not in the way you’re presenting it to me.”

Your choice is to present it differently or do another product. Along the way hopefully you learn some things about how to find out what people want, how to get ‘em to buy, how to fulfill products, write letters, create sales pages and so forth.

Honestly, in the DOING, you’ll learn a lot more than you’ll ever learn in the reading. You ask. The market answers. You learn along the way.

But if you’re a spectator and you never get in the game, I can guarantee you one rock solid thing: You’ll never win the game if you aren’t in it.

This is a great business. It isn’t for everyone. It sure isn’t a way to become a zillionaire overnight. Maybe after 5, 10 or 20 years you hit that zillion and you’re the next John Reese or Jeff Walker.

I don’t think everyone should be in this business. If you don’t wanna figure anything out yourself, if you don’t wanna learn how to solve problems, if you don’t wanna learn more things about html and the computer than you really wanna know, if you can’t tolerate risk, if you need your first attempt to be a success, or even your first 3 or 4, then I don’t know, if you can’t afford to spend money on learning and education, if you can’t afford to try things that don’t work, if you think it should all be simple and easy, I don’t know if this industry is for you.

A lot of people get seduced by the lure of ez dough. The promises of zillions without learning. Just connect the dots and you too can be John Reese, Marlon Sanders or whoever you wanna choose.

Here’s the deal: People WILL sell you a turnkey system to escape your job, make zillions or whatever. They’ll give you the fish. I want to teach you TO FISH.

I have a strong belief that unless you buy a franchise, in most cases your going to better off learning marketing than “buying a fish.” There are exceptions. But more often than not, buying a fish doesn’t serve you well.

Some of my friends would disagree with that premise. I happen to have a strong conviction that you are better off learning marketing. My friends are RIGHT in that people DO want to buy the fish versus learn how to catch it. So oftentimes, you’re best off selling a “fish” product.

But everybody has their perspectives. And for me, my criteria for buying a product: If whatever “IT” is doesn’t “pan out” for you, are you STILL better off from having spent money on it? Will it continue to benefit you, your family or your friends in the future?

If the answer is NO, then think twice before spending your money.

You have a job you wanna escape, bills to pay off, retirement to prepare for. Or special needs like a sick loved one. Or a sickness yourself.

I can’t promise you ez zillions. There’s no integrity in that.

I can’t promise you 6 figures a year ez as pie.

What I CAN promise you is that selling products works. It’s no scam. People been doin’ it for thousands of years.

I can promise you that marketing works. Always has. Always will.

I can promise you that money and time spent learning marketing can pay off in many ways.

I can promise you that if you find demand, meet it with products and well-executed promotions, and you do that over time, those bills will likely fade away.

I can promise you that everybody on the Net selling you this or that “dough making system” ALL have 1 thing in common — THEY are selling you a product, service or seminar.

They have a target market.

They have an intro offer.

They have a back end.

I believe in paying more attention to what people DO than what they SAY.

People get all confused what to DO. And there’s a new system invented every day that’s the next big thing. Thank God. I love commerce.

But to remove the confusion, understand this:

They all may disagree on HOW you make money. But one thing is certain: They’re making bux selling a product to a target market — YOU!

Go and do thou likewise.

I remember back then. When I bought deodorant with all pennies.

I remember the date I had with a model in a car that smoked like a bomb.

And to me, there’s no confusion. It’s all crystal. It’s all simple. Take away the smoke. Take away the mirrors.

You need a product. You need people who want it with the money to buy it. You need some great promo out there.

There’s only ONE method people having using to pay their bills and quit their jobs for the past 1,000 years –

Selling products and services to a target market with a great sales pitch that presents benefits and solves problems.

You wanna quit that job? You wanna liquidate that debt? I don’t have an ez zillion for you. But I do have a crystal clear answer.

Find a group of people. Find out what they need and want. Meet those wants with a product. Provide great service.

And who knows. Maybe. Someday. If the stars shine down on you, you’ll hit that pot of gold at the end of the rainbow.

Niche Marketing on Crack - A Review

December 20th, 2007

Throughout 2007 and within the Internet Marketing fraternaty, Niche Marketing has been the buzz. What is Niche Marketing?

In a nutshell it is the selection of a topic or sub-topic (Niche) into which you can market one or more products (either your own or as an affiliate) to people who are genuinely interested in that niche. As these people are so interested in that particular niche, they are much more likely to buy products based around that interest, therefore making a niche market potentially much more profitable than a more general topic area.

I was alerted to Niche Marketing On Crack when I visited the Warrior Forum one day and (unusually for me) I scrolled down the main page and there it was under “Recommended By Warrior Forum”. Now the owner of the Warrior Forum, Allen Says, is a pretty well known and respected online marketer, and if he is happy to recommend this ebook then, I thought to myself that it must be worth checking out.

Niche Marketing On CrackNiche Marketing On Crack is an ebook written by Andrew Hansen that shows you set-by-step how to find niche markets and more to the point, how to find out if a niche has the potential of being profitable before you spend any more time (or money) on developing and promoting a website for that niche.

The method that Andrew teaches also shows you how to find niches that have little competition (fewer websites), giving you more chance of getting a website to the first page of Google. He also shows you how to get your website indexed in search engines extremely quickly.

Andrew then goes on to show you how you can easily set up a website to target your chosen niche, and includes basic Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) tips that will help with getting a good ranking in the search engines.

The websites created are based on the Wordpress blog system. Now, I know through experience that this kind of software will daunt alot of non-techie type people, however Wordpress isn’t difficult to set up. The main part about using Wordpress is that there are many plugins that you can use to make your life simpler and enhance your website at the same time. In the ebook, Andrew shows you exactly which plugins to get and how to set them up.

In addition to the ebook, Andrew also runs a forum for Niche Marketing on crack customers. Thi is a great way of swapping ideas and tips with other people who are using the same system that Andrew has laid out. The downside to this is that Andrew has made the forum a paid forum. To get access you will be asked to pay a monthly fee of $24.95, however if you sign-up to Andrews newsletter (on the first page you get directed to after payment for the ebook) you can join the forum for a little over $12 per month.

The forum has almost 800 active members, and from reading through some of the threads peoples questions are being answered, mostly by Andrew himself.

Niche Marketing On Crack is aimed squarely at new Internet Marketers. It is an easy read and most technical questions are answered in the text. The forum gives additional support, but once ou get used to the system and setting up new websites, I personally think that the forum would become superfluous.

All in all, the package is great for those starting out in internet marketing or those who have not yet succeeded in making money online. But, don’t expect to become an instant millionaire with this, it takes work and time for the system to work, but as Andrew says in the ebook “There are certain skills required but absolutely nothing that can’t be learnt very quickly. I know because I have put people onto this method who aren’t internet people. They are just normal people, some with even below average computer skills and knowledge. All they did was follow the directions exactly and they got the results.”

How to make money fast - The Willie Crawford way!

July 22nd, 2007

- A review of Willie Crawford’s
Really Fast Money - How to make $1000 - $2000 In 24 Hours or less!”.

There are a ton of ebooks available on the Internet that profess to tell how to make money really fast. The prices range from a few dollars to several thousand dollars.

I’ve have personalty bought and read loads of the make money fast type ebooks, and most of them weren’t worth the paper they were printed out on!

But, sometimes there are extreme exceptions. And Willie Crawford’s
Really Fast Money - How to make $1000 - $2000 In 24 Hours or less!” is one of those exceptions.

Inspired by people asking how to make money fast, Willie lays out all that anyone needs to do to make that sort of money in a very short space of time, and he proves that it can be done, because that’s what he did before he released it.

And, before you say that this guy is huge marketing success with a huge list to market to, he shows you ways that you can make money without a list to market to.

About the ebook. The first ten pages or so are given over to testimonials, which I found slightly annoying, although Willie is trying to show you that the methods outlined in the ebook do work and have worked for many people who took action on the information provided. Personably I just skimmed over that part because I wanted to get down to the nitty-gritty!

When you get to the actual method, Willie shows you first how to find hot product ideas, ideas that people are willing to pay for, after all there isn’t much point in creating a product if no-one is going to buy it!

Once you have chosen you niche, Willie shows you how you can very quickly create a product and make it uniquely yours. He then mentions pricing and why the low price strategy works.

He then outlines methods of creating traffic, after all if you don’t have traffic, you’re not going to sell anything!

And finally, Willie shows you the tool that he used to take the orders from the buying public. It is Jonathan Leger’s
$7 Script. This is a PHP script that came on the market early in 2007, and took the Internet Marketing world by storm. It is relatively easy to set up and does most of the work for you. One of the best parts about this script is that it allows you to easily get JV partners too, and although they may get 100% commission on the initial sale, if you have set either affiliate links or links to your own higher priced products that are related to your ebook subject, then it is a small price to pay.

Willie has also added a resources section in the back of the ebook, showing you links to other very useful resources, many of them free.

Probably the best part about
Really Fast Money - How to make $1000 - $2000 In 24 Hours or less!” is the price. It is just $5, which anyone can afford, and using the methods outlined anyone should be able to make money fast but only if they use the information and take action!

Oh and by the way, the sales page for this ebook isn’t some fancy 20 page tome, it only has one graphic (the ebook cover) and is only a few paragraphs long (if you exclude the testimonials), which also goes to show that you don’t need fancy graphics and long sales pages to make sales.

If you want to make money fast, I highly recommend
Really Fast Money - How to make $1000 - $2000 In 24 Hours or less!”.

Affiliate Marketing - An Easy Way To Make Money?

July 1st, 2007

The Internet has made working from home one of the easiest ways to make money that there has ever been. More and more people are turning to the Internet to find an easy way to make money, but most fail because they don’t know how. But those that work out how, can and do make a lot of money.

In this article I’m going to show you why affiliate marketing really is an easy way to make money on the Internet.

Firstly, what is affiliate marketing?

Affiliate marketing is a cooperative effort between a product creator (the merchant or company) and a person (the affiliate) who promotes the merchants product(s) and drives potential buyers to the merchants website.

Affiliate marketing is a win-win situation for both the merchant and the affiliate.

For the merchant, affiliate marketing provides a much wider market for his/her product and can give the product much more exposure than if the merchant were to use traditional, and expensive, advertising methods.

For the affiliate it is an easy way to make money because he/she can enjoy the many benefits without having to create their own product. The affiliate can earn commissions simply by placing an affiliate link on their own website or blog. Or write a product review, or articles on subjects related to the product they are promoting and submitting them to the many article directories that are available on the Internet.

Affiliate marketing is an easy way to make money without leaving the comfort of your own home. The costs are extremely low (a computer and an Internet connection). The product is already created and proven to the market by the merchant, and all you have to do as an affiliate is to drive as many interested prospects to the merchants website as you can.

Affiliate programs are generally free to join and there are literally thousands of products and services available, covering virtually every topic under the sun, for you to promote as an affiliate. To discover affiliate programs on a specific topic, just go to Google and type in “topic” + “affiliate program”.

In addition, affiliates need have no previous selling experience to get started. Most affiliate programs will offer excellent and proven sales and marketing materials for you to use. Also, the really good merchants will support you in your affiliate marketing by answering any questions you might have about their product or service.

Another benefit of affiliate marketing is that there is minimal risk involved. If you choose a product, drive loads of prospects to the merchants website and nobody buys, you simply drop that product and move on to another product. There are no long-term binding contracts so if the product doesn’t make you money, you move on.

But by far the best benefit of affiliate marketing is that it gives you an easy way to make money, increasing your income, even if you just use as a part-time business.

With a little effort, imagination and the many free methods available on the Internet today, affiliate marketing is one of the easiest and most effective ways to make money without the hassle and risk of creating your own product.

JV Spawner - How to create free trial software or ebooks.

June 27th, 2007

JV Spawner Finding Joint Venture partners isn’t an easy task. Finding Joint Venture partners with huge mailing lists is an even harder task.

Here is a very simplistic breakdown of the steps involved

1) Build a relationship with your potential partners
2) Tell them what’s in it for them
3) Provide all the tools (promotional emails, graphics etc) that they can easily copy and paste onto their own website/blog or autoresponder.

(I did say it was simplistic!)

But working with Joint Venture partners can make or break a product launch; it can also bring in far more income than you could by doing it alone.

In this post I’m going to skip over steps 1 and 2 because there are plenty of other online resources available for those subjects, and you could easily write a book on it too.

So the point of this review is to show you that one of the easiest ways to get JV partners is to allow them to see your software/ebook and that one of the eastiest ways to sell a product is to let people see it and try it before they buy.

So what is JV Spawner?

JV Spawner is a software program that creates a secure wrapper around your software or ebook, that allows people to try the product for a period of time. That time can be set to be a number of days or you can set it to be run for a specufied number of times.

During the trial period, every time the software is run, the user will get a message asking whether they want to continue with the trial or buy the full version. And at the end of the trial period the user is informed that the trial period has ended and given the option to be taken to the sales page to buy the full version.

JV Spawner could not be easier to use. It has a simple, one page, dialog box with just six text fields for you to fill in. (see the graphic below).

JV Spawner dialog

Once you have created your trial version all you need to do is distribute it all over the Internet, and there are plenty of places to list your Free download, just do a Google search for “free download” and you’ll see.

If you run an affiliate program or have JV partners you can also use the rebranding software that comes with JV Spawner to give them a copy of your trial software or ebook, so that they can add their own affiliate link to it, giving them a greater incentive to promote your software.

What can JV Spawner not do?

JV Spawner is designed to provide trial versions of pre-compiled software, that is software that is in a .exe format. JV Spawner will isn’t very good at protecting PHP or other kinds of scripts, because these kind of products need to let the user see the code for them to use it.

Also, if you have an ebook that you want to promote using JV Spawner it is best to protect your ebook using the features of a .pdf creator, such as making it non-printable and non-editable, rather than relying on JV Spawner to protect it for you. But, you could provide sample chapters, and after the trial period have JV Spawner point the potential buyer to the full version.

All in all, this software could not be easier to use and could help you make a ton of cash with little effort on your part.

Marketing Main Event 3 - An alternative!

June 7th, 2007

There is a lot of buzz going on at the moment about Marketing Main Event 3, and as someone who bought Marketing Main Event 1 almost 2 years ago, I would just like to make few suggestions that will hopefully help you make a decision on whether to buy or not.

——————————————————————————————
A sidenote first though.

Firstly, I haven’t seen inside Marketing Main Event 3, I have only read the sales page. Having bought Marketing Main Event 1 (about 2 years ago now) I know that Simon and Jeremy turn out quality products, so what I am about to say is in no way a slur on them or their products.

——————————————————————————————

The main product of Marketing Main Event 3 is CMS Infusion, a Content Management System with a whole host of features and plug-ins that make it extremely easy to create and maintain a website or number of websites without knowing or having to write a sinlge line of code.

This product does look great and they are also offering a whole host of modules for you to manage pretty much every aspect of and online business website without the need to know any technical stuff at all.

Also with MME3 you would get a ton of digital products, passes to paid membership sites and these are not to be sniffed at either.

But not only will the package cost you $997 up front, it will also cost an extra $47 for each license should you want to create more than 10 websites using this CMS and after the end of year one $97 per year to have their continued support.

Ok, so whats the alternative. Well as far as the CMS is concerned, take a look at Joomla. Joomla is a full-featured open source CMS. Open source means that it is FREE. Not only that, but it is one of the best supported CMS’s around, with a huge amount of free plug-ins that you could easily add (without any technical knowledge) and a support forum that is full of experienced users who are happy to help others out with problems, and again it’s free.

Also, you can use Joomla on as many sites as you like and for as long as you like without having to pay for support or licenses after a year. And, Joomla is constantly being updated and each update is released free too.

Now if Marketing Main Event 3 were based on CMS Infusion alone, I would recommend that you do not go that route, go the Joomla with plug-ins route. However, you may be basing a buying decision on all of the other products as well.

As I said, I bought Marketing Main Event 1, and was thoroughly impressed by the products within it, I even made a small profit from the Resale Rights to some products. I have also been thoroughly impressed with both Simon and Jeremy and their abilities to create quality products.

But I would also add that you should only buy if you KNOW that

a) you will learn from the products yourself
b) that you will profit from the Resale Rights that come with them

Treat a buying decision like this as an investment, consider your options, and only buy when you are pretty damn sure that you can recoup that investment.

I hope this helps you make the right descion for you.

All the best

Review: Download Warrior - How to protect your digital download pages.

May 7th, 2007

Unfortunately, there are many people out there on the Internet who want to rip you off. They want to take your money, they want to get a hold of your digital products without paying for them.

Not a day goes by when I see forum posts that say “my ebook is being stolen” or “I’ve been hacked”.

Because of these wrotten people who are trying get hold of the products that you have invested both time and money in, you need to protect your products.

One of the best ways to do this is to secure your download pages with expiring links… that is a link that after a preset period of time, will no longer work.

Download Warrior is an extremely easy to use, inexpensive, download page protection software that creates expiring links to that page.

To use Download Warrior you initially create your download page, the web page that your buyers will be directed to after thier payment has been processed.

Once your page has been created, save it to a folder on your hard drive.

You then run Download Warrior which has a simple dialog box like interface.

In the dialog first click on the Select File button. This brings up a standard file navigation folder where you can navigate to the folder that you saved your download page to. Once at the folder, select the file you created and then the Open button.

Back in Download Warrior, all you need do is select the number of hours that the link will be valid for and then click on the Update button.

When you click on the Update button, the software will create three new .php files and rename the original download page file. It is the three new files that you need to upload to your website download folder.

Sidenote:, it is always a good idea to name your website download folder with a name that is difficult if not impossible to guess at. Use a mixture of numbers and letters, making it totally random with no whole words in it.

Once you have uploaded your files, navigate to your folder (using your browser) and include index.php (http://www.mysite.com/downloadfolder/index.php). You will be asked to enter your password. This password is the one that you gave Download Warrior when you registered the product, and is shown in the bottom left of the dialog.

You will be taken a page that will show the link that you need to copy and paste into your payment processor that will redirect your buyer to the download page after payment has been made. This link is automatically changed for each buyer and the best thing about it is that the link that the buyer is given is only useable for the amount of time that you set when you create the files (the default is 2 hours). This means that only genuine buyers get to your download pages, and will prevent you from being riped off.

Sidenote: No software is 100% hacker safe, but this software will prevent “casual” theives from taking your products.

Download Warrior is a great tool for protecting your digital download pages and at the price ($27) can save you a small fortune in lost sales.
